Nail wraps are a fabulous alternative to nail polish, because they’re super easy to apply, have no nail polish smell and no drying time! You also have the benefit of amazing nail designs that you can quickly and easily put on yourself, in the comfort of your own home.
Nail wraps are relatively new to the Australian market, and we’re often asked how they work! The most common questions we get at our market stalls are “wow, these look great, but what do you do with them?”. So, here’s a 4 step guide on how to apply your nail wraps (we told you it’d be simple!).
You can also check out the application video on our homepage here.
STEP 1. FIND THE RIGHT NAIL WRAP SIZE FOR YOUR NAIL
Once you’ve opened your mani-cure nail wrap pack, you’ll notice there are 16 wraps with a range of sizes. The first step to applying your nail wraps is measuring the right size for your nail. If your nail is in between two sizes, our tip would be to choose the smaller size. If you choose a size that’s slightly too large for your nail, it can overlap on your skin which means it won’t set properly. The range of standard sizing will fit most nails, however you can also easily cut the nail wrap to size with scissors if required!
STEP 2. PLACE THE NAIL WRAP ON YOUR NAIL
Once you’ve got the perfect size, peel the plastic protective layer off the wrap then remove it from the backing paper. You can easily place the wrap onto your nail, putting the curved edge of the nail wrap at the base of your natural nail, then pressing down to secure it. Another great benefit of using nail wraps is that you can easily adjust the application if you don’t get it right the first time. If you need to correct the placement, you can simply peel it back off and place it down again!
STEP 3. FILE OFF THE EXCESS
Once your mani-cure wrap is placed on your nail, all you need to do is file off the excess. If you have shorter nails, you can use scissors to cut the wrap before filing it down, and keep the other half for your next wear! Use the nail file provided in your mani-cure nail wrap pack, and use downward motions against your natural nail to file off the excess.
STEP 4. APPLY A CLEAR TOP COAT TO MAKE YOUR NAIL WRAPS LAST LONGER
And you’re done! Wait 2-3 hours then apply a clear top coat to finish. This will help seal the nail wraps and make them last longer.
